Goole Branch Sign
The Lancashire and Yorkshire railway built a branch line from Selby to the
nearby town of Goole (the furthest inland port in the UK). The line was gradually
closed over the years and now only a short section exists between Selby and a now
dismantled bridge over the A1041. This sign is one of the remanants of the
line seen in the undergrowth of the nature reserve which occupies part of the old
line.
