York Minster

This fantastic building was constructed almost 1000 years ago!  Despite one or two mishaps including a catastrophic fire in 1984 the building still looks magnificent.

The minster is currently undergoing a massive restoration project which involves removing and repairing and in some cases re-sculpting sections of stone. Although parts of the building are shrouded in scaffolding, most of the structure is un-obscured.

There's no shortage of things to photograph at York Minster.  It's easy to get carried away trying to capture the building as a whole, but there are many, many features in this enormous building that make interesting images on their own.
