Leeds Architecture

The city of Leeds in West Yorkshire has a vast array of architecture.  The city of Leeds grew to prominence in the late 1800s during the industrial revolution.  It was one of the major industrial cities of the north of England.  The University of Leeds was founded to support the growing industries of West Yorkshire.

Nowadays, with industry in the region waning, Leeds has found new life as a leading legal and financial centre.

The town hall, a grand Victorian building constructed at the height of Leeds' industrial success, contrasts with the modern tower blocks and buildings in the city's financial and legal districts.  There are plenty of good photographs to be tanke in Leeds.
